The quote below from Apple’s Phil Schiller is to the point and captures one important reason why a) Apple continues to succeed in the consciousness of consumers and businesses, and b) it’s competitors–the obvious ones, not Google–flounder. (Like all nerds, Google suffers its cluelessness uniquely and repeatedly.)

Schiller explained Apple’s products as a continuum, where you use the “smallest possible gadget to do as much as possible before going to the next largest gizmo in line.”
