In a dark corner of the Trans-Pacific Partnership lurks some pretty nasty copyright law – The Washington Post

The article is worth reading, though it is long. The point is that actions by national governments deemed beneficial to their populations can be overturned by the TPP. The orphan works copyright provisions of the TPP are a particularly interesting case and the rhetorical frame the author uses is effective, as the TPP is positioned as holding back innovation, public access via the Web to all, even ancient, publications, and so on.

Whatever else may be going on in the TPP agreement, it has some pretty lousy copyright law hiding in there.
